I think f6 also works for this in most browsers. never really developed a habit of doing this until recently and it is much more convenient than the weird habit I had had previously of creating a new tab and immediately closing it lol
i like to use alt+d to get to the address bar because i don't have to move my hands from the home row too much because you can hit alt with your thumb. that's my Tech Tip!

This one doesn't seem to work in Firefox for me.
i'm in firefox and it jumps to the address bar with @google already filled out. if you have a separate address and search bar instead of the combined address/search bar it might jump to the search bar. idk!! the magic of software!!

Also for real: this site needs to get a slight adjustment such that when I press tab after writing a post it highlights Submit rather than Syntax reference.
