windows update wiped out my boot partition, linux partition, AND my windows partition

really good thing this is an ex-employers laptop that i was updating before returning (super long story) and not a machine i use

cant believe this is still happening in 2024

since you can't patch that out, it seems to me you should just disable windows update and avoid the hassle
