They make sense if you think of them as just a shed to store tools and stuff that's too dirty to store in your house but don't want outside getting rained on, like a lawn mower or power tools.

It is very silly to store a car in them, but I guess can be handy if you're like, working on a motorcycle and it's rainy out.

arent there places where its illegal to have a car outside ur house. i may have just misunderstood this on account of owning neither a car nor a house but if so then i think that's weird

also a lot of people just use them as storage space i think

birds poop on it, weather, etc, we only have a roofed, semi-enclosed space for the car which is not a garage but feels useful. that's where we keep the firewood too.
