why did i hear about fruitcake every christmas of my childhood despite never having it and also nobody else ever having it

I like them! Not all fruitcake is created equal. Candied cherries can really vary in quality.

i've been the one making christmas cakes for everyone, i had six of them maturing on top of my cabinets these last few months
