make yourself a vinaigrette dressing with this one neat tip

Submitted by hollyhoppet in just_eate (edited )

get yourself a little tupperware container

Put in some vinegar. White is probably ok but red wine is my favorite. Balsamic is good too but real strong. Apple cider vinegar sounds good but I haven't tried it lol.

Put in some oil. Olive oil or sesame oil (my fav) are probably the best because they have strong flavors. Add between one and three parts oil to one part vinegar.

If you're feeing adventurous add a dash of soy sauce I promise it's good. Or if you're a scaredy pants just a little salt.

Maybe add a little bit of sugar but not too much.

Shake it all up with the lid on.

There you go you made a salad dressing congrats. Enjoy your vegetals.

A little mustard goes really well in a vinaigrette and it helps to emulsify it as well - in other words, helps to keep oil and water together.

Mustard is a bit of a passion food, for or against. It's literally the only emulsifier I know of that people readily recognize as food stuff - soy lecithin works well too, I suppose, but who has a taste for that stuff?
