Oh no!!!! I don't see how to avoid these kinds of misunderstandings entirely. When we were running Windows 98 my then-teen caught malware that made his machine completely unusable just from a misunderstanding like that.

I'm old enough to have grandkids and I still make the same kind of mistakes. Don't feel too bad about it and I'm glad you're writing the email.

I don't know, because I was really drunk at the time.

Not much fun. Scary waking up because he was drunk too, I was a minor and he wasn't, and it was so not cool that our skins were different colours. :(

We literally never spoke to each other again. We were always running into each other at parties and dropping acid together. Once he pointed at me and said, "I boinked (pronoun)." randomly and I neither confirmed nor denied it.

ETA: I'm reading this: https://everydayfeminism.com/2016/05/alcohol-and-consent-questions/ and wanted to clarify that I do not feel raped by the man I gave my virginity to. He was a perfectly decent human being and we might have been friends under other circumstances.

The alcohol made both of us temporarily forget the existence of racism and statutory rape laws. I was just flattered that a "big kid" thought I was pretty, if you want to know the truth. What could have happened to a twenty year old black man who got drunk and woke up in a bed with a naked white fourteen year old girl in the 1970s is not something I particularly want to talk about.

If he felt raped by me, I am so sorry. That wasn't even on my radar until a few months ago.

In a perfect world we wouldn't have needed to play with toy bombs at all but it's been a rough year. I wish there had been a better place to do it from the dog's perspective. It sucks being a dog no matter how nice your people are.

I'm not beating myself up over it because we were one of many, many neighbours making our poor next-door-dog's life a living hell, but I am passing along what their person told me as calmly and objectively as they were able to.

There are also thunder blankets and other non-med things that help, but I'm not responsible enough to take care of a dog so I don't know all the details.

Since they're toy bombs anyway, we did a bunch of riot/revolution LARPing this year and had a lot of fun, but it wasn't fun for neighbourhood dogs. :(

I like the idea of a shooting range type place that had a reasonable or no fee where people could go to play with them.

A lot of dogs have to be on meds on the 4th so it's a good idea to let their people know if you have leftovers and want to play with them on the 5th if that's legal in your area. The dog's people need to know how long the meds are necessary.

Apparently this is an attack/blowback against this article in Everyday Feminism:

https://everydayfeminism.com/2015/06/imperfect-teeth/

that I just found out about. :(

I don't want already traumatized people getting hurt and wanted to give them a heads up. I was seriously going to mail the Everyday Feminism article to my ex-dentist when I accidentally mistook his hired goon's abusive behaviour for an innocent misunderstanding.

I'm not the sharpest tack in the box, nor do I claim to be. :(

Thank you because sometimes I just don't know. I'm not a troll and I need a safe community but I fuck up. I'm glad to know you have my back.

DISGUSTING!!!!!

No wonder the people who volunteer to use themselves as human shields to protect me from misogyny on the internet don't feel safe being themselves around me.

Apologies for slurping my coffee while I wake up.

Okay, but could you please just let me know what I do wrong? I don't understand. I want to be your friend.

I don't DO know how to switch from freenode to different irc servers now!

I don't know enough about the privacy issues with Discord to adequately assess if it might be appropriate for my unique set of circumstances but I'm pretty sure it isn't. am a bit more security/privacy conscious than the average duck, but it's more of a hobby than actually trying to protect myself from the inevitable consequences of serious activism.

We'll figure it out.

I'm just glad to be able to chat or lurk. I kind of need friendly voices at random times right now.

Thank you for sharing.

I appreciate your post very much but I'm new to the community and I have a bad habit of talking too much.

Of course it's okay. Why wouldn't it be? Why would anyone want to hang out with transphobic homophobes who have something against furries?

Maybe I just don't understand the world, but pleased to meet you anyway.

No, you are a fellow elderly internet user, even though my oldest child is older than you. We are a minority and we stick together.

I have hair issues too and would love to share what we can come up with. Mine is just extremely thin all over because I'm AFAB and that's how the gene for male pattern baldness exhibits itself in this kind of body.

My body disintegrated so fast that I'm just not comfortable in my own skin and I don't recognize myself any more. I know it's hard, but self-care is important.

What are these kids going to do without us? I know they want to haul us both off to Treblinka, but it's not in their best interest.

I am not more equal than you. We're in this together. Thank you for having the courage to be "out" as a fellow Senior Digital Citizen.

Hi Overbite.

Do you have any issues with functionality? I'm almost completely dependant on my blender and it sucks donkey droppings.

Not that society doesn't suck anyway even if you aren't in the crosshairs.

At least we don't look like freaks:

https://everydayfeminism.com/2015/06/imperfect-teeth/

if that's any consolation.

Stay safe; it's not your fault but we are vulnerable and subject to hate crimes.

I'm glad. They seem to have chased most of us off the internet awhile back so I tend to assume I am among 20-30somethings unless informed otherwise. I'm not 65 yet so still a baby when it comes to age and aging issues, but it sure has happened fast.

My body and mind used to feel indestructable. I used to want to be some sort of a badass superhero.

When did I become an easy mark and a professional victim?

I didn't even notice. It was like that frog in boiling water thing.

Thank you. I haven't had as much time to lurk yet as I probably should before posting something, but it looks like a great community and just what I need right now.
