If you like Sonic Adventure, this is a really good thing to read. If you hate Adventure because you primarily played DX, this is a really good thing to read too.
It's a real shame that Sonic Adventure DX was such a downgrade, and got even worse with each consecutive port. And it's even worse that by far the worst port (the Steam/XBLA/PSN version) is also by far the most accessible version, giving newer players a horrible impression of what was otherwise a pretty good game.
If you happen to be playing the PC version (either the 2004 version or the Steam version), you should install the mod pack listed here, as the mods improve just about every single thing about the game and make it a much more enjoyable experience.
