tfw ur an ancient human with very early language

you look up and you see a big lion in the tree.

lions have never been on trees. nobody else notices. you have no way to express it.

The only way you usually speak about "above" is mostly in meteorological terms. Except, you do also have a term for "on top of", but mostly in the context of things roughly "person" height. Like, "[baby] [on-top-of] [table]." but nothing for this situation of a big lion in the tree.

with no way to express it, you just say "[shh]" and point. some of your group goes silent and looks. but those in the frontmost of the group kept going, not seeing the situation behind them. the lion has noticed y'all. oh fuck.

suddenly, another person in your group says something that would be nonsense in any other situation, but made perfect sense to everyone immediately:

"[lion] [on-top-of]! [snowing]! [we] [are] [outdoors]!"

a new sentence is born and a grammatical structure is cemented. your pack survives another day. the lion snowing becomes a meme.

think about how many fucking memes were lost forever to history...

think about it..,.
