I get the feeling it's establishing a "baseline" to subvert and divert from. It already has in some mostly-subtle but very-meaningful ways IMO.
I don't think the next 5 chapters will be the same "silly adventure in the dark world, seal the fountain!" routine. I'd bet money Chapter 7 won't end like "welp, good job sealing all the fountains!"

It was good and I enjoyed it but also delta is giving me big Psychonauts 2 vibes where it's repeating the original rather than progressing from it.
Farris Wheel scene was r r cute tho.
