i like jstpst's "no irony / reappropriation" rule

From the Wiki:

We do not allow posts mocking tragedies (including historical ones) and sexual abuse. We don't allow wiggle room for irony or reappropration, as we have no way of gauging someone's intent.

A lot of good or decent communities turn horrible sour fast when racists and whatnot feel welcome seeing "ironic" or "mocking" humor, and while I don't think that will happen here, I don't think ironic humor is super good to begin with?

I also think there is a liiiittle wiggle room (e.g. i don't think i'd be banned for saying "i am queer" despite the mild contention over the reappropriation of that term) and I generally agree with all the ~moderation~ decisions done here

that's from me irl! there's a lot of different ways to interpret "don't be racist, homophobic etc.", while asking "don't be edgy" is much narrower. it is completely wild how much less drama we had in our modmail after we changed the rules
