Let's brain storm terrible video game concepts

Submitted by Moonside in just_post

  1. EarthBound meets Resident Evil
  2. MMORPG where PVP battle is entirely through a Tetris like minigame with a bizarre gacha mechanic.
  3. Dramatic multigenre crossover saga about Doctor Eggman managing to gather all the chaos emeralds and threatening to destroy all gaming, so every character from every franchise will join together to oppose the menace. The player truly needs decades of game lore experience to successfully manage all genres and all characters through all video game milieus, a knowledge base truly ready-player-onean. Every character from every franchise will be there to celebrate players victory in the ending banquet, saying "now you can finally free yourself from the control of video gaming, buttstuff420, there's absolutely nothing left to do. You can finally have a real life. turn off the console now. Don't let Sans down!" It's a difficult choice you can't truly solve with a walkthrough.

An MMO but scored like golf. The less damage you do the higher your score. But you still have to capture the flag or defeat the boss, in raids. Basically everyone trying to freeload as much as possible without the team actually losing.

Reverse RPG where you level down after every fight. Yes, this includes random encounters.

Not gonna lie but a tetris game where you unlock new shapes and have special powers sounds actually really fun. I know that's only tangentially related to idea #2 but it's close enough for me to get enthusiastic.

My idea for a terrible game is "any moba that's not a straight remake of dawngate"

zelda fangame where you play as a butte and all your powers are poop related. the world is split into two cheeks. due to a math error, the creator temporarily believe they've created the largest game world ever. they called it "butte rpg". despite all the toilet humor, the author didn't think of replacing the sword with a long poop.
