I was curious enough that I decided to check it myself. Here are the total counts of punctuation marks in the plain project gutenberg text:

The em dash was represented as two characters (--) so I didn't include it (would have been like 5 minutes more of work), sorry hoppet.

Wasn't really as extreme as I thought, but the semicolon/period ratio does seem to be higher than in all the other analyzed books. The period/comma ratio is also quite interesting to compare.
