i think it's the capitalist society that's made me insane but the internet is the most efficient delivery mechanism for that, so in some sense yes

as others have mentioned i think it was less the internet as a whole being a bad influence and more the capitalistic and fascistic influences on it. using ad blockers, sticking to mastodon and jstpst, and taking breaks when i feel like i've absorbed too much suffering has helped a lot with that tbh
